Exploring
the
WHY
Your kiddo is struggling. They are feeling anxious, unhappy, or exhibiting behaviors that cause stress at home and problems in school. You are trying everything you can think of but are met with tantrums, defiance, impulsivity, whining, clinging, avoidance, and even apathy… just to name a few. It feels personal. It feels endless. It’s fricken frustrating, embarrassing, and exhausting.

I got it. It makes sense. You are not alone.
My hope is that I can help both you and your child shift from a “misbehavior” mindset to a “stress” behavior mindset. Together we can give them tools to build a stronger awareness of the mind-body connection and more effectively communicate their thoughts and emotions, which in turn allows others to be responsive to their needs (rather than react to their behavior).
In motto sums is up: Exploring the WHY to help them FLY!
It is hard enough for adults, let along kids and teens, to be holistically present and self-aware of what is happening and why it's happening, even more so when unregulated energy and strong emotions are involved. Children and teens are still developing their language skills, which also limits their ability to effectively communicate with words what they are experiencing and what they need from you and others.

Through play, expressive arts, and body based activities, I create opportunities for them to naturally show me their inner world when they don’t have words to do so. Today's technology gives me a much larger toolbox of games and activities than would fit in a traditional office, and every session is tailored to meet kids where they are in the moment. The most important thing to me is fostering a therapeutic relationship built on trust, safety, and curiosity -- connection is the magic that allows them to show me what's going on even when they can't tell me.
Teletherapy

Parent
Consultations
Whether or not you decide on teletherapy sessions, no two kids are the same, and every parent has moments when it would help to chat with someone who can help explore the "why" behind what you're seeing. Whether you want on-going support or a one-time meeting, consulting services are not therapy -- they are conversations focused on helping you brainstorm ideas and parenting strategies.

It can also be challenging to navigate the bureaucracy of the education system, especially when you feel like the system isn't taking your child's holistic wellness into account. I am often asked to join conversations as an objective advocate for the strategies and resources that would best support your child in and outside of the classroom.

In some cases, mental health therapy alone is not going to help your child thrive, and what you need is a little help considering what other assessments and support services can compliment what you're already doing. I can help you build a team-based approach to supporting your child in a holistic, integrated way.

We'll schedule a video conference to explore your experiences, the areas you would like to address, and how we can partner together to help you achieve your therapeutic goals.

I am not currently able to accept insurance, but I am happy to prepare a "super bill" that you can submit for reimbursement if eligible under on the terms of your insurance policy.
